I have tried / used so many calling cards and VOIP phones from last 3 years to call India from USA to call India and at last settled with the following three calling cards and using from last one year.

I use Airtel India calling card if I need best call quality. It charges 7.9 cents per minute. But on special occasions (Diwali, New year, Republic Day etc..) they offer some discounts like free minutes etc… I can say that this is best quality you get with the calling cards. Pingo offers most economical for the quality they provide. It may not be the as best quality as Airtel, but it is also one of most reliable and quality calling card. they charge 7.3 cents per minute if you use local access. And alslo they charge 98 cents maintenance fee for a month.

Recently Rebtel is offering cheapest and good quality calls to India. They charge 5.6 cents for land line and 5.9 cents for mobiles. The quality is more than enough for calling friends and relatives.
